“What is the difference between a wink and a blink?”, Alicia Juarrero asks in her book Dynamics in Action – Intentional Behavior as a Complex System. She comes to the conclusion that we cannot control and do not intend the blink therefore we consider it amoral but on the other hand, winking is intentional, so it goes hand in hand with our moral responsibility for the act performed.

This figure composition is supposed to represent the pressure arising from the moral principles of society and hesitating if distinguishing good and evil in relation to other people and to oneself adapted to social, customary morality, is sometimes not in conflict with our own moral principles.
